Want To Help Us Grow?

We are a young company, shaped by the ideas and passions in our team and our commitment to exploring seasonality and modern beer.

In the 13 weeks since we started production brewing our weekly wort production has more than doubled to an average of 84hl per week.  We are going to double production again before the end of the year, producing between 144hl-192hl of wort per week, but volume increases alone aren’t what will see our small company grow.  Our ambition is to achieve ever higher production standards, beyond our current capabilities and limitations, by developing brewery processes, laboratory work, and QC.

We’re currently looking for two people to join our production team.

// Brewer //

Educated or experienced in brewing, lab work and QC, attention to detail and commitment to quality are your key attributes and drivers.  You work in a methodical way, critiquing processes at every opportunity in the pursuit of excellence.  Working with others brings learning opportunities, and a chance to shine as a hard working, positive, supportive team member.  You like the beer we’ve made so far, but see how you can help us make it even better.  Confident enough to question others, and be questioned yourself, you care more about helping to find the best way forward than getting your own way.  You are nice, smart, and physically fit.

Your work will involve:

• Supporting and assisting our head brewer
• Working alongside and training our assistant brewer (according to experience)
• Early starts and late finishes
• 48 hours work a week
• Brewing existing recipes to spec
• Developing new recipes
• Faultless record keeping and improving paperwork
• Documenting handovers
• Performing and developing laboratory and QC work
• Daily CIP and cellar tank actions
• Stocktakes
• Weekend QC
• Overseeing handover to packaging and assisting with packaging when required
• Costing analysis
• Exemplary customer service
• Anything else that’s required of you as part of our small team

Significant advantages:

• Working knowledge and interest in niche yeasts (brettanomyces, saison/farmhouse)
• Experience of barrel ageing beer
• Experience of kettle souring (and lactobacillus cultures)
• A full, clean driving license or willingness to qualify asap
• Able to start in July (concessions made for notice periods and/or relocation)

Salary and incentives according to experience.

// Cellar Tank and Packaging Assistant //

The attention to detail and work involved in wort production need to be matched by careful analysis and management of fermentation through exacting QC and tank actions.  With every yeast crop, dry hop, fruit addition, QC check, and CIP, you’ll see your work as integral to our brewing process.  You thrive on exceeding expectations and working smart and fast.  Your passion for attention to detail and record keeping will instantly confirm your reliability and importance within our small team.  Confident enough to question others, and be questioned yourself, you care more about helping to find the best way forward than getting your own way.  This position is open to someone educated, experienced, or quick learning and capable.  You are nice, smart, and physically fit.

Your work will include:

• Supporting the brew team
• Early starts, late finishes, and up to 48 hours work a week
• Working with chemicals and moving heavy items
• Laboratory processes and QC
• Daily CIP and cellar tank actions
• Weekend QC
• Packaging into cask, keg, and bottle
• Faultless record keeping and improving paperwork
• Documenting handovers
• Seeking further reduction of low transfer and packaging losses
• Impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail
• Exemplary customer service
• Anything else that’s required of you as part of our small team

Significant advantages:

• A full, clean driving license or willingness to qualify asap
• Able to start in July

This position will be supported by an hourly living wage, with incentive opportunities after 3 months.
