Join us in March for two post-punk themed evenings

18th March: Eraserhead (Lynch, 1977)

25th March: Stroszek (Horzeg, 1977)

Firstly the late, great, David Lynch’s debut Eraserhead set the late 70s scene ablaze on both sides of the pond - with a dense and dark atmosphere that would set the tone for the transition from punk to post-punk. The film follows Henry, a new father trying to navigate the industrial landscape he finds himself in.

Then, Stroszek, Wener Herzog’s strange road trip through Nebraska. As uncanny as it is funny, the film captures the surreality of backwaters America. Following a German musician desperately trying to make it big in America, the film is tragically infamous for its connection to Joy Division, being allegedly the last film Ian Curtis would see before his passing.

Come and revel in the funny, dark, and surreal world of post-punk cinema…
