Our Brewery
We handle everything in-house, from centrifuging to packaging, and conduct spoilage organism and fermentation health lab work on-site. Both kegs and cans rest in our sub 5ºC cold store before shipping or direct delivery to our customers for maximum flavour and quality.
Our vibrant production team of twelve brings over 50 years of industry experience to the table, blending backgrounds in mechanical engineering, genetics, project management, chemistry, computer science, and IBD qualifications in brewing science
Our modern production brewery features a 24hL Premier Stainless Systems three-vessel brewhouse, where steam-jacketed mash tun, lauter tun, and kettle whirlpool work in harmony. In our 840hL cellar, discover 18 fermentation vessels including a 12hL pair, 4 x 24hL, 6 x 48hL, and 6 x 72hL, alongside three brite beer tanks.
BREWERY TOURS
Explore the heart and soul of our brewery on one of our weekend brewery tours, led by our talented team members. Each tour explores our brewing process, and features unique perspectives, anecdotes, and insights from our team members, providing you with insider's experiences of the passion behind every sip of our beers.
Tours are followed by a tutored tasting of our freshest brews at our Unit 9 Taproom, where you’ll have the opportunity to ask any burning questions.
On-site taproom
You’ll find our Unit 9 Taproom nestled right next to our brewery in the heart of Manchester. With 20 draft taps brimming with fresh releases and barrel-aged delights, it's a beer lover's paradise. You’ll also find our shop here, where you can snag the latest brewery merch, cans, and bottles to enjoy at home.
Unit 9 isn't just a taproom; it’s a space designed to elevate your beer experience, highlighting the importance of freshness and showcasing some of the incredible artwork that has defined Cloudwater since our inception. All 20 draft lines are drawn from a chilly 3ºC cold store just beneath the tap room mezzanine, ensuring every sip is as fresh as can be. Even our take-out selection is kept icy cold at below 5ºC, straight from the same walk-in cold store where it's been since packaging.
In addition to our stellar beer selection, we've got local gin, wine, small-batch soft drinks, and a tempting array of cold snacks. You’ll also find us rolling out the welcome mat for local street food vendors on most weekends, and you can find a list of all upcoming food traders on our Unit 9 socials.
We're thrilled to offer a vibrant space buzzing with creative energy and brimming with quality behind every tap, all run by an incredibly talented and like-minded team who help bring our taproom visitation to life.
