Role: Taproom Manager (Full Time)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

This role is a permanent, full-time position.
We’re looking for a driven, organised, and inspiring Taproom Manager to lead our Sadler’s Cat team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional people management skills, a deep passion for hospitality and craft beer, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
You’ll be responsible for the smooth running of the taproom - from team leadership and bar operations to events and compliance - ensuring Sadler’s Cat continues to be one of Manchester’s most welcoming and exciting venues.
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Recruit, train, and lead a motivated and high-performing team.
- Manage staff scheduling, performance, and development, empowering junior managers to take ownership of key tasks.
- Conduct team meetings, drive engagement, and maintain strong morale.
- Oversee HR matters with support from the Operations Manager (OM) and People Team.
Strategy & Performance
- Deliver and exceed sales, profit, and staff cost targets as set by the OM.
- Continuously improve the taproom experience through data analysis, customer feedback, and competitor research.
- Oversee social media and events planning in collaboration with the Marketing and Events teams.
- Lead new initiatives and support the overall business strategy for Sadler’s Cat.
Compliance & Operations
- Act as Designated Premises Supervisor, ensuring compliance with all H&S and licensing requirements.
- Oversee food hygiene and cellar management standards.
- Manage stock ordering, rotation, and product selection, ensuring an efficient and high-quality bar operation.
Events & Community
- Generate creative ideas for in-house and external events.
- Collaborate with the Events Team to deliver memorable experiences that reflect Cloudwater’s values and community spirit.
Essential Skills & Expertise
- Outstanding customer service and hospitality mindset
- Personal Licence Holder (required)
- Proven people management and performance development experience
- Strong cellar and bar management knowledge
- Confidence in product ordering and stock control
- Understanding of P&L and financial reporting
- Positive, adaptable attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, organisation, and time management abilities
- Awareness of food hygiene standards
- Social media and marketing experience (desirable)
