Job Description: Accounts Assistant (6-Month Contract)

Hours: 6-10 hours per week (over one or two shifts)

Working Pattern: Set day, between Monday–Friday

Location: Office-based (non-remote)

Salary: £14.36 - £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

Reports to: Management Accountant

Role Overview

This is a key role with the opportunity to extend contract duration primarily supporting the smooth running of the purchase ledger function and ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, as well as support across the wider finance team with transactional processes such as credit card/expense processing, cash book reconciliations and other ad hoc tasks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process 70-100 purchase invoices weekly, ensuring correct coding and approvals.
  • Prepare weekly multi-currency payment runs in accordance with approval processes and payment terms.
  • Complete regular bank reconciliations.
  • General communication with suppliers to assist in resolving invoice queries and disputes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements regularly and ensure that any differences are investigated and resolved.
  • Support month-end processes, including:
  • Reconciliations
  • Accruals and prepayments (as required)
  • Basic reporting and analysis
  • Support the Management Accountant with Quarterly Management Accounts and VAT Return
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvement projects when required
Skills & Experience
Qualifications

Education: At least GCSE or equivalent level to include strong Maths and English. Formal accounting qualifications are preferred but not required.

Essential
  • Proven 1-2 years experience in an Accounts Assistant role
  • Hands‑on experience of financial processes
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadline
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working on-site in an operational, fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Xero/Quickbooks
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a brewery, manufacturing or FMCG business
  • Experience using Breww or similar brewery ERP systems
  • Experience working closely with commercial or sales teams

Role: ONLINE SHOP ASSISTANT & BAR STAFF (MANCHESTER)

Location: Cloudwater Brew Co, Unit 9, Piccadilly Industrial Est., Manchester M1 2NP & Sadler’s Cat, Manchester City Centre, M4 4AH

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Hours: 32 including weekends and evening shifts

Contract: Permanent

Role Overview:

We are looking for a member of staff to cover 2 roles, Online Shop Assistant & Bar & Floor Staff at Cloudwater Brew Co at both of our Manchester venues - Unit 9 Taproom & Sadler’s Cat.
This is a 4 day per week role mainly working Monday & Tuesday in the Online Shop and then weekends in hospitality venues.
Working with craft beer is desired but not essential as all training will be given.
As this position requires handling alcohol, only applicants over the age of 18 will be considered. 

Main duties include:

  • Assisting the e-Commerce Lead with daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
  • Organise stock and prepare packaging for retail.
  • Pack and ship online orders, ensuring all the goods are presentable and secure in packaging during transit.
  • Ensure the fulfillment area is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Develop knowledge of products and be able to recommend and upsell products.
  • Keep up to date with new releases and any company announcements
  • Good stock rotation 
  • General compliance with the Online Shop Warehouse SOP
  • Serving drinks
  • Giving great customer service
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the venues during service
  • End of night close down cleaning
